Flimsy Whim: Blog promo

Note: This does not refer to the usual "blog promos"...

This post was prompted by the following thread:
I forgot to highlight it, but I'm referring to TheHyphenOwner's (Hi E!) comments

Yep, I was reluctant to put a link on my Facebook page. I even hesitated on adding a "Follow via E-mail" gadget on this blog. I didn't have that much confidence - that someone will really follow my blog seemed farfetched. But when I saw the page views, whoa, some people have read (how many actually read through it, well, I wouldn't know) my posts and it felt good. :) All I ever wanted was just an avenue (I could not naman talk to my hubby about kikay stuff all the time), somewhere where I can talk (er, write) about anything, mostly about vanity (never had a sister, nor a daughter to do this with). To share this with kindred souls, that's the icing to my (blog) cake;to have someone follow me, that's another story. I am relatively new in the blogging community, although I used to write randomly in another networking site, so I'm not quite sure how to go about promoting my stuff (should I even?)
Anyway, I may have to give it some time. Who knows, the "Followers" gadget will be put up next ;)

Update:
I gave in --- I've added the "Followers" gadget but I changed it to "Kindred Spirits" which I felt is more apt, don't you think?

Tinted Wings: OPI Black Shatter and China Glaze Lighthouse

I've been fascinated with gold - the color and jewelry (hey, who isn't?). Not all gold polishes deliver as much pigmentation on the bottle as when it is on the nails. China Glaze Lighthouse looked too yellow in the bottle but on the nails, it was just the right shade of gold for me.

China Glaze Lighthouse

With natural light
Was it me or does this flood the cuticles?

And because I could not leave it well enough alone, this happened after just a couple of days...
With OPI Black Shatter, voila! Instant animal print, tee hee :)

Gold + black shatter = Purrrrty.

Tinted Wings: OPI SSITP AND China Glaze Crushed Candy

A quick post before I'm off to a meeting.

NOTM (Nail of the Moment -- because I tend to change polish sometimes within the day, crazy...):

This is China Glaze Crushed Candy over OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyreness (which, for some reason, I did not get a photo of before topping with CG -- this surprised me because it dried to a jelly finish and even looked yummier when I topped it off with Seche Vite)

with Seche Vite Top Coat --- pretty!

Holding the future in my hand :)

Crushed candy and jelly! Toink toink :P

Lootbag: NARS,OPI, China Glaze,The Make-Up Store, Wet N' Wild

I realized I went a little overboard when I saw these photos AND when there was no more room in my stackable plastic boxes (I have four -- oh, Helmer such a major lemming).

Warning, photo overload ahead!

At last, I have been waiting for these babies (Wet N' Wild Spring 2011) to hit our shores :) Hanna Pinktana, Gray's Anatomy and NARS Schiap (SA at Essenses pronounced this as Si-siyap-- ookaay)
Wet N' Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire; Buffy The Violet Slayer (I know, right? Somebody loves their TV shows...)

NARS Zulu
Essie Sew Psyched

China Glaze (CG) Recycle and For Audrey. Yes, it's a beaute. Sigh -- green and gray!
China Glaze Liquid Leather, Flying Dragon, Custom Kicks

Pasalubong from SG (kisses Babe!)

OPI Mod About You; Suzi Skis In The Pyreness; Over The Taupe (yep, more browns!)

Of all, I was very excited with these lovelies. The Make-Up Store Holos Greta and Madeline. Hubby prefered Madeline coz of the color but when I tried on Greta, he was a convert (I even swatched it on his thumb, yeba)
My very first bottles of Seche Vite Top coat. The tiny one was a freebie, it's soooo cute however, it was kinda awkward to hold with its teenie top and short handle but it can do :)

So, yeah, I guess I have to be on a no-buy-just-look for a month or two.... The Snake Nails from Tony Moly would have to wait, sigh.

Lootbag: Etude House, Tony Moly

SM Fairview: I was on a mission --- look for a hydration backpack for my brother and get some diapers for the babies. I was determined to breeze thru the crowd and head straight to sports shops, I didn't have the luxury of time coz I left my calf in the care of the in-laws not before making sure he's well-fed, of course I digress. But I made a wrong turn (or did I, really?) and so lo and behold! Etude House boutique!! No, I couldn't, I just couldn't but I did. Sigh, I walked away from the store with a paper bag filled with bottles of polishes and a membership card! All along thinking, hubby's not going to like this... As I was walking towards a sports shop, I spotted a large white sign, the simplistic design caught my eye --- Tony Moly! My heart skipped a beat, again I was torn ---- should I go? It will only be for a few minutes, I thought. Yep, after just a few minutes I got out of the store with four more bottles of nail polishes.

Here's what I got,
Open.... Sesame!
Miss Tangerine Petit Darling Nails Kit, matte black, matte gray, GD011
Tony Moly Milky Sky, True Red, Milky Mint, Real Red

So many polishes, so little time...

Oh and yes, the hydration pack and diapers? I got 'em ,too ;)

Tinted Wings: Etude House and Miss Tangerine

Before the Philippine invasion of Etude House, I have been introduced to the brand some three years ago. My mom came home with goodies from a trip to Korea, and one of those is make-up. I got a pressed powder, which was too light on me so I ended up giving it to Nanay (she is much much fairer than I am), I kept the blush/highlighter (to this day I don't know what it is called, I don't read Korean hehehe) and the kabuki brush. I was pleasantly surprised and excited when I saw a kiosk in SM Fairview last year. So I bought a couple of the pressed powder which Nanay loved ("hongganda sa balat ko!") and when I gave it to her she was beside herself, her expression was classic! Hahaha! She thought I ordered it from someone in Korea (sly sly) but 0f course, I had to tell her the truth :)

Anyway, I didn't give it much thought though coz I don't know much about the brand but then when I saw that Etude House is in SM Cubao I thought it was time to look into their other products. I love their Precious Mineral BB cream for sheer glowing skin with SPF 30. This goes on smooth and light, medium to full coverage. Downside to this is it only has one shade. Oh well, I am acidic so the color blends into my skin given a few minutes.

On to my current addiction - nail polish! I've bought quite a few from EH (which will be posted sometime soon, translation: when the kiddos are asleep) and I'm quite happy with the consistency and application. When I read from Pam's blog about Miss Tangerine Petit Darling's Nail Kit, why not give it a try? It seemed easy enough, looks like fool proof. I have always been fascinated with nail art and gradients but alas, I have no creative cell in my body nor patience (this has never been my virtue, I've ruined quite a number of manis because I can't wait for the polish to dry-enter the fast dry top coat lalala!) to do it myself.

So pretty! It was as if I had my nails done at the salon, if I must say so myself :P

From Pam's blog : Tangerine Pink Nail Coat, Sparkling Tangerine Pearl Coat and Bling Bling Tangerine Pearl Coat

If I had not read it, I would have no clue as to the names of the bottles, it only has numbers and letters :P

One more thing,

What's this?! Oh no...

Should I trim these stubborn bristles? I was really really bothered when I opened the bottle and saw this. I almost didn't want to go on with the mani... But hey, maybe I could return it or not. I went on with the mani, and the wayward strands were not much troublesome - it was just annoying to look at! - however, the base color Tangerine Pink showed some streaks upon application. There was thickening of the polish in the bottle after a few minutes. I could live with it because of this ... :)

WTF... NO Post?!

I've been a member of this blog community since May 2007 (so I've read) and I HAVE NO POSTS?! So... why then did I even create an account? Hmm, wait lemme think ---- nope, I dunno the answer to that BUT I will put an end to that "No Posts" and start with this :)

Now, this one is on a completely different note. Regarding the title "WTF". My sons are into collecting door and windshield signs --- be it sticker-type for the door (sigh, these peeled the paint off!) or those with suction cups. My brother bought a couple the other day and gave it to the boys. However, there was one kinda controversial sign that sought my permission (hello? You just thought of asking after buying the thing?! Duh... Of course, I digress) On to the sign, it read "WTF?" Personally, I don't have an issue about it but out of curiousity (more than naievete which I am not), I asked my son, D, what it meant. He said "Where's The Food?" Oh, ok.

Yeah, right ('',)

I should've entitled it "WTP" then for "Where are The Posts" ---- cornball! Toink, toink!
